Albert William Barkley
v.pres to Truman

There was once two brothers with different ambitions.

One went to sea.  The other became Vice-President of the United States.

Neither was ever heard from again.

  1. I remember reading about Barkley because Truman kept him out of the loop concerning the whole Manhattan project. Guess Truman didn’t want to hear from him either.

  2. The ‘second person in charge’ is quite often in a thankless position. Usually, at least in my experience, the bigwig is usually an overly ambitious person and will do anything to get to the top. This includes stepping on people’s heads. (I am not speaking about any ‘you know who’s’). The second person, like a VP, usually valuable and talented, never gets the credit as the bloated big wig eats all the credit like Star Wars Jabba the Hut. Then again, the Biden’s of the world make us thank God that #2 never got to be #1.
